What's New
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek enters the model year with a full redesign. The compact crossover features sharper exterior styling and an all-new interior with enhanced comfort and quietness. A Wildness trim with increased ground clearance joins the lineup. Engines are unchanged, but all-wheel drive is now standard and a manual transmission is no longer available.
Choosing Your Subaru Crosstrek
The Crosstrek now comes in five trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Wilderness. Pricing for the Crosstrek starts at $26,290 including destination and climbs to $33,290 for the Wilderness.
Engine Choices
The Base and Premium carry a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The remaining trims get a more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder. All models come with all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). On the Premium and above, the CVT features an eight-speed manual mode and paddle shifters. The Wilderness can tow up to 3,500 pounds, while the others top out at 1,500 pounds.
Most Crosstrek models offer 8.7 inches of ground clearance, enough for light off-road duty. The Wilderness can handle tougher trails thanks to 9.3 inches of clearance.
Engine Type | Horsepower | Torque | Fuel Economy (Combined) |
2.0L 4-Cylinder | 152 hp | 145 lb-ft | 29 mpg |
2.5L 4-Cylinder | 182 hp | 178 lb-ft | 29 mpg |
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The Crosstrek is a compact, two-row crossover with seating for five. Buyers get 19.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat and 54.7 cubic feet with it folded. These figures are down just slightly from last year's model.
Safety Features
All Crosstrek models feature adaptive cruise control with lane centering, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available in an option package for the Premium and Sport — and standard on the Limited and Wilderness. The top two trims also carry reverse automatic braking.
Connectivity
The standard infotainment system for the Crosstrek includes a 7-inch touchscreen, four speakers, two USB ports, HD and satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Premium and above get an 11.6-inch touchscreen, six speakers, and four USB ports. Starting with Sport, wireless phone charging is also standard. The Limited and Wilderness can be equipped with navigation and a 10-speaker Harman Kardon system through an options package.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Base – MSRP From $26,290
The Crosstrek starts out with cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive LED headlights, and 17-inch dark gray alloy wheels. There are no option packages for the Base trim.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Premium – MSRP From $27,440
Upgrading to the Premium brings nicer interior trim, LED fog lights, roof rails, proximity keyless access, push-button start, and machine-finish wheels. The sole option package ($2,245) adds heated front seats with 10-way driver power, blind-spot monitoring, a sunroof, heated side mirrors, and wiper de-icers.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Sport – MSRP From $30,290
The Sport is the first trim to get the 2.5-liter engine and wireless charging. The heated seats, side mirrors, and wiper de-icers are also standard. Other features include yellow accents throughout, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 18-inch wheels. To this, buyers can add a $1,920 option package with blind-spot monitoring, the sunroof, and the power driver seat.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Limited – MSRP From $32,190
The Limited adds leather seats, a standard power driver seat, and reverse automatic braking. The Harman Kardon system and sunroof are available together for $1,795. Navigation can be added to the package for a total cost of $2,445.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness – MSRP From $33,290
The Wilderness gets a 0.6-inch suspension lift, plus revised gearing, a transmission oil cooler, a front skid plate, all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, and copper body accents. Other standard equipment is shared with the Limited, except the Wilderness has synthetic leather upholstery and a manual driver seat. The power driver seat is available bundled with the sunroof, Harman Kardon system, and navigation for $2,270.
Compare Crosstrek Trims Side-By-Side
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek in Premium trim is clearly a better value than the Base model, but an upgrade to the Sport is required to get acceleration that's more than merely adequate. The Wilderness offers some genuine off-road capability in addition to vastly improved towing performance.
