2024 Volvo XC60 Changes
Volvo has dropped the front-wheel-drive version of the B5 powertrain for the 2024 XC60. With the change, the 2024 XC60 now comes with all-wheel drive as standard. Another change that Volvo made to the XC60’s powertrains is to drop the B6 option.
Other changes for 2024 include an air purifier system on the Plus and Ultimate trims, 20-inch wheels and laminated windows on the Ultimate trim, and a new Black Edition appearance package for the Ultimate.
Choosing Your 2024 Volvo XC60
The 2024 Volvo XC60 lineup is split by gas-powered and electrified models. The gas-powered XC60 is available in Core, Plus, and Ultimate trims. Pricing for the XC60 ranges from $47,745 to $57,695.
The XC60 Recharge, which is a plug-in hybrid, is available in Core, Plus, Ultimate, and Polestar Engineered trims. Pricing for the PHEV starts at $59,195 and goes up to $76,545.
2024 Volvo XC60 Engine Options
Volvo offers the 2024 XC60 with two different powertrains. The standard powertrain in the XC60 is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The engine produces 247 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD are included with the powertrain.
The available XC60 Recharge has a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor that powers the rear wheels and an 18.8-kWh battery pack. The PHEV offers up to 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque. AWD and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard.
2024 Volvo XC60 Fuel Economy
The 2024 Volvo XC60 with the standard engine is rated at up to 25 mpg combined (22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway). The XC60 Recharge PHEV can get up to 28 mpg combined when running on gasoline and up to 63 MPGe on gas and electricity. The EPA estimates that the PHEV can travel up to 36 miles on electricity.

2024 Volvo XC60 Safety
Every 2024 Volvo XC60 comes with advanced safety features that include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic high-beam assist, traffic sign recognition, and rear parking sensors.
The Plus trim adds adaptive cruise control, Volvo’s Pilot Assist system that can handle most driving tasks on the highway, a surround-view parking camera, and front and side parking sensors.
A head-up display becomes standard with the Ultimate trim.

The 2024 Volvo XC60 comes standard with a nine-inch touchscreen, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, 10 audio speakers, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and navigation. Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store are also standard.
A Harman Kardon audio system is available for $800 on the Plus trim and comes standard on the Ultimate. A Bowers & Wilkins audio system is available for $3,200 on the Ultimate.

2024 Volvo XC60 Core – MSRP From $47,745

Integrated booster cushions are available for $500, running boards are an extra $1,580, and Polestar Engineered Optimization, which brings updated software for improved performance, costs $1,400.
