Model Preview
The carryover 2024 Cadillac CT5 is coming to dealers before the end of the year. Initial reports seemed to indicate that the sedan would undergo a refresh, but now the refresh is said to be coming for the 2025 model year. However, the upscale CT5, and its performance V-series, are slated to receive some additional paint colors this model year.
Four exterior color options are going away on the CT5-V. The colors in question are Blaze Orange Metallic, Wave Metallic, Electric Blue, and Rift Metallic. The CT5 is losing one color (Blaze Orange Metallic). Replacement colors include Velocity Red, Cyber Yellow Metallic, Coastal Blue Metallic, and Black Diamond Tricoat which will all be available for an extra charge.
Since the 2024 CT5 will be a carryover model, we don't expect to see any changes to the sedan's exterior looks. The current model on sale has a bold front end with a classic shield grille above a large air intake. With slim headlights and vertical daytime running lights, the face is slightly aggressive on the CT5. The roofline slopes toward a squared-off rear end with wrap-around taillights.
On the inside, we expect the 2024 CT5 to maintain the same style as the current model on sale. The CT5 is a midsize luxury sedan with room for five. The cargo space leaves you wanting though, as the trunk only holds 11.9 cubic feet of gear, a little below average for a sedan this size. The standard infotainment system for the first three trims includes a 10-inch touchscreen, nine speakers, HD radio and satellite radio, three USB ports, an SD card reader, wireless phone charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Stepping up to the V-Series gains you a 15-speaker Bose sound system, and moving to the range-topping V-Series Blackwing earns a 16-speaker AKG sound system. Navigation is only available as a part of a bundle on any trim.
Under the hood, base Luxury models start with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 237 hp and 258- lb-ft of torque. You can move up to the Premium Luxury or Sport trims, where you'll get the option of a 3.0 Liter Twin Turbo V6 engine that makes 335 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. The V-Series give you more tuning on the V6 engine, while the CT5 V-Series Blackwing gives you a V8 engine.
When it comes to safety, Cadillac makes each CT5 standard with lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring with a rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, and automatic emergency braking. Moving to Premium Luxury, Sport, or V-Series trims brings radar-enhanced front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and front parking sensors.
