Beyond a few new exterior paint colors, the 2024 Cadillac XT5 arrives without any major changes. Cadillac has confirmed that 2024 will be the last model year for the XT5 in the U.S. as the automaker looks to prioritize the development of electric vehicles. The plan to discontinue the XT5 for the 2024 model year marks the end of the SUV’s eight-model year run for its first generation.

2024 Cadillac XT5 Engine Options
The standard engine in the 2024 Cadillac XT5 will continue to be a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is found in the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims and routes power to the front wheels as standard. All-wheel drive is available for $2,000. The Premium Luxury can be fitted with a V6 engine for an extra $1,000.
The XT5 Sport steps things up with a 3.6-liter V6 engine as standard. The larger engine produces 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. The Sport trim comes with AWD as standard. Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Fuel Economy
According to the EPA, the 2024 Cadillac XT5 earns a combined fuel economy rating of up to 24 mpg with the standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine. That’s based on 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
The XT5 with the V6 engine and AWD is the least-efficient configuration available. The SUV can get up to 21 mpg combined with the larger engine.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Towing Capacity
With the standard four-cylinder engine, the 2024 Cadillac XT5 can tow up to 1,000 pounds. Opting for the more powerful V6 engine raises towing capacity to 3,500 pounds. These figures are well behind rivals.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Dimensions & Cargo Capacity
The 2024 Cadillac XT5’s dimensions make it one of the smaller midsize options in the segment. The SUV is 189.6 inches long, 74.9 inches wide, and 66.1 inches tall. Unlike some competitors in the class, the XT5 is a two-row SUV with seating for up to five people.
2024 Cadillac XT5 cargo space measures 30 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and a total of 63 cubic feet of cargo space. These figures are average for the segment.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Safety
All 2024 XT5 models come standard with forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, a driver attention monitor, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic high-beam assist, a Teen Driver system, and parking sensors.
Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert come standard on the Premium Luxury trim. This trim is available with the Driver Assist Package which adds adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic emergency braking, and automatic belt-tightening. The $1,300 package can only be optioned with the available Technology Package, bringing the total price up to $3,575.
Speaking of the Technology Package, it costs $2,275 and adds a rearview camera mirror, an eight-inch driver information display, a rear camera washer, rear pedestrian alert, automated parking assist, a surround-view camera, and a head-up display.
The 2024 Cadillac XT5 has not been fully crash-tested by the IIHS yet. The SUV did earn a rating of Good in four crash tests, a Marginal rating for its headlights, ratings of Superior and Advanced for its front crash prevention system. In the NHTSA’s crash tests, the SUV earned an overall safety rating of five out of five.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Technology
Cadillac offers the 2024 XT5 with a standard eight-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, four USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, and eight audio speakers. The Premium Luxury trim tacks on a 14-speaker Bose audio system, navigation, and a wireless charging pad.

2024 Cadillac XT5 Luxury — MSRP From $45,290
Build & Price >While the XT5 doesn’t offer the same high-tech features or lavish cabin as some of its midsize rivals, it does come well-equipped with convenience features. The base trim comes with synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, push-button start, a power liftgate, LED headlights, and 18-inch wheels.
The Luxury trim is only available with dealer-installed packages.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury — MSRP From $51,590
Build & Price >If you’re looking for genuine leather upholstery, you’ll have to move up to the Premium Luxury trim. Additionally, it also comes with a panoramic sunroof, an eight-way power-adjustable passenger seat, a heated steering wheel, and wood or carbon fiber trim.
The Premium Luxury is the first trim to be available with the Driver Assist package, Technology Package, and Platinum Package. The latter costs $4,850 and includes adaptive suspension, semi-aniline leather upholstery, and premium floor mats. It can only be paired with the Technology Package, bringing its total price to $7,125.
2024 Cadillac XT5 Sport — MSRP From $58,190
Build & Price >The main draw of the Sport trim is its standard V6 engine and AWD system. On top of the performance bump, the Sport trim gains 20-inch wheels, sport suspension with adaptive dampers, and Brembo brakes.
Shoppers will find that the Sport trim is available with the same optional packages as lower XT5 trims.
It’s hard to recommend the 2024 Cadillac XT5 in the midsize segment. If your heart is set on a midsize SUV from Cadillac, the Premium Luxury trim is the way to go. With features like genuine leather upholstery, wood trim, and a panoramic sunroof, it feels like a bona fide Cadillac. The V6 engine is a worthy upgrade, as is the Technology Package, which adds some much-needed tech to the SUV.
