First of all, you should be aware that Porsche recommends changing the oil in your Boxster about every 15,000 miles or so. Also, Porsche recommends that you use only Mobil One synthetic motor oil in your Boxster. Changing your motor oil about every 15,000 miles or so is a good thing--because most Porsche Boxster engines will require up to about 9 or 10 quarts of oil when the oil is changed.

Many Porsche dealers charge between $200 and $300 to change the oil. Also, even quick change quick oil change locations may charge up to $100 for an oil change because of the large amount and type of motor oil that is required to fill a Porsche Boxster. Also, Porsche recommends that you purchase a new drain plug and seal whenever the oil is changed. Typically, the oil drain plug and seal can be purchased from a Porsche dealership for between $15 and $20.
