The Chrysler Pacifica arrived in 2017 with a sharp design that many experts called the best looks in the segment. The 2021 Pacifica will introduce a refreshed look, an updated powertrain, and loads of new tech.
Starting with its new looks, Pacifica’s front end gains a larger and bolder grille, smaller and more rounded LED headlights, and a refreshed bumper with standard LED fog lights. Around back, a full-length LED brake light bar gives it a wider look, and a new-look bumper rounds out the updated tail. At the corners, Chrysler adds six new 18- and 20-inch wheel options.
Inside, the new Pacifica gets some refreshing too, starting with a new standard 10.1-inch touchscreen and Uconnect 5 infotainment system that processes data five times quicker than the unit it replaces. Also new is wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple simultaneous Bluetooth connections, a rear-seat camera, up to 12 USB ports, a rear-seat entertainment system with dual 10.1-inch screens, and more.
In 2021, a new range-topping Pinnacle trim joins the existing Touring, Touring L, and Limited trims. This luxurious van will include special front and rear consoles that offer 227.6 liters of storage, a Caramel and Piano Black color scheme, quilted Nappa leather seats with perforated inserts, Light Tungsten stitching and piping, movable second-row lumbar pillows, a mid-century Timber Hydro bezel, and more.
Under its hood, the 2021 Pacifica continues with the same 3.6-liter V6 engine that delivers 287 horsepower. What’s new under the skin is its optional all-wheel-drive that has a rear-wheel disconnect to maximize fuel economy when the conditions don’t call for the extra grip. This makes the Pacifica only the second minivan currently available with all-wheel drive – the Toyota Sienna is the only other.
The 2021 Pacifica also arrives with 14 new standard safety bits. Some highlights include pedestrian automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, full-speed adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and more. The current Pacifica is an IIHS Top Safety Pick, and with these new features, we expect the same rating in the 2021 model.
