2023 Ford Lightning Lease Deal Surges To $15k Off MSRP

Ford increased F-150 Lightning discounts today to over $15,000 off MSRP. In some cases, dealer incentive bulletins reveal that 2023 Ford Lightning lease incentives increased by nearly 400% with updated lease rates equivalent to 0%. This could be the best time to lease a Ford Lightning that we've seen to date.

In at least 10 regions, 2023 Ford Lightning EVs boast up to $15,250 in RCL Customer Cash, the brand's rebate for leasing. The biggest discount is on the Platinum grade (up from $7,500). The Lariat follows with $9,750 off Standard Range configurations and $9,250 off the Extended Range style (both are up from $5,000).

Next, the XLT gets $1,500 off, though a quirk can enable you to get $7,000 off when choosing the Extended Range version or $4,250 off one equipped with the base package called Equipment Group 311A. With the ER model, today's change results in a 367% increase in savings from just $1,500 to a whopping $7,000.

The changes affect lessees in Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Memphis, New York, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco. In California, Ford also cut Lightning money factors. In the case of the Lariat trim, the 36-month lease rate went from 5.68% to just 0.09%. That's basically 0% financing on leases.

In Southern California, Ford's website reveals a $1,500 Trade-Assist Cash incentive set to go into effect tomorrow in time for Memorial Day. In some cases, today's changes could help sweeten the deal for holiday vehicle shoppers. Earlier this month, Ford began offering 0% financing on the Lightning for the very first time.

But is the Ford Lightning better to buy than lease? That depends. As we reported previously, Ford took away rebates when 0% APR was introduced on purchases. To help sell a glut of 2023 inventory and increase market share, Ford also introduced a $1,500 discount for Tesla owners to help entice them to switch brands.
