Hyundai hasn't been shy about incentives on their newest models. We've seen aggressive lease and financing deals on both of the IONIQ models and now the redesigned Kona Electric gained an enticing new lease deal. The compact electric crossover is currently for as low as $169 per month with just $1,699 due at signing, making it one of the most affordable vehicles to lease in America. Here's what you need to know about the latest Hyundai Kona EV lease deals.

Hyundai just rolled out a round of mid-month lease enhancements, and the deals on the Kona Electric caught our eye. According to a recent dealer bulletin, the 2024 Kona Electric SE can be leased for just $169 per month over 24 months with $1,999 due at signing. The effective monthly cost works out to just $252, which is almost $80 less than the already competitive 36-month lease deal announced at the start of the month.

The 24-month Kona Electric SE deal is one of the best ones we track. It's also the second-cheapest lease deal on the market right now, but for just $10 more per month, you can upgrade to the SEL model. In addition to being over $4,000 more expensive than the SE, the SEL offers nearly 80 more hp and 60 more miles of driving range than the base model and adds niceties like heated seats. As good of a deal as the SE is, the SEL gets you better value.

How is Hyundai able to offer such affordable 24-month deals? According to our analysis, the residual values of both the SE and SEL Kona Electric trims are over 10% higher for the 24-month deals than their 36-month counterparts. That's not uncommon since the vehicle has less time to depreciate, but this discrepancy is on the larger side. Fortunately for the consumer, the higher residual values correspond to a lower lease rate, bringing down the monthly payment.

Even though the base model is the second-cheapest lease in America right now, we'd recommend spending the extra $10 a month to upgrade to the Kona Electric SEL. Both Kona deals are advertised nationally and are good through April 1st.
