At the beginning of the month, Jeep slashed pricing for the Grand Cherokee by $4,000. The price cut was due to the rising cost of inflation, as Jeep looked to add value to its lineup. With February coming to an end, Jeep continues to reduce pricing for some of its vehicles, as Bloomberg reports that the automaker has cut prices for multiple vehicles. Despite being Jeep’s most affordable model available, the compact Compass is getting a noteworthy price cut of $2,500.

Jeep may be looking to move upstream with luxury SUVs, but the automaker is keeping the affordable Compass around. When Jeep announced changes for the 2024 Compass last September, the small SUV arrived with a lower starting price tag of $29,995. Now, Jeep has cut prices for the 2024 Compass again.

Pricing for the 2024 Jeep Compass starts at $27,495 for the Sport trim, which represents a decrease of $2,500. The Latitude sees the largest price decrease of any Compass trim, as it now costs $31,765 ($2,930 less than before). Pricing for the Latitude Lux starts at $33,490 (a decrease of $2,645) and the upscale Limited trim costs $35,340 ($2,050 less than before). The range-topping Trailhawk has decreased by $2,795 to $35,490.

As far as we can tell, Jeep hasn’t removed any features from the Compass or updated the SUV. So, these price cuts seem like they're primarily meant to add more value to the SUV.

“Inflation was such a big negative hit for families and people here in the U.S., we needed to do something,” said Antonio Filosa, Jeep’s CEO, during a presentation to reporters at the automaker’s headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. That something has been to reduce prices for vehicles like the Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, and Compass, while adding more standard equipment on the Wrangler. This is all being done to boost car sales for the brand, which were down last year.

With the price cut to $27,495, the Jeep Compass is one of the more affordable options in the segment. The Compass is cheaper than the Mazda CX-5 ($30,675), Hyundai Tucson ($28,875), 2024 Subaru Forester ($28,440), Ford Bronco Sport ($32,825), Honda CR-V ($30,850), Toyota RAV4 ($30,025), and Nissan Rogue ($29,400).
