2024 Volkswagen Tiguan Has Same Lease Price As Taos

The Volkswagen Taos has occupied the entry-level spot in the Volkswagen lineup since the departure of the Golf hatchback. That being said, it isn't always the most affordable VW to lease. Right now, you can lease the larger Tiguan SUV for the same price. Here's what you need to know about the latest Volkswagen Tiguan lease deals.

Now through July 1st, you can lease a 2024 Volkswagen Taos S for $259 per month over 36 months with $3,399 due at signing. The effective monthly cost works out to $353, which falls short of a good value compared to the Taos' $23,995 MSRP. The Taos seldom ranks as one of the best subcompact SUVs to lease these days, and this deal carries over unchanged from last month.

If you're in the market for a Taos but want a little more bang for you buck, consider the Tiguan. The latest Tiguan S lease deal is identical to the Taos at $259 per month with $3,399 due at signing, following a $20 price cut this month. The $353 effective monthly cost looks better relative to the Tiguan's $28,880 MSRP. Volkswagen's two smallest SUVs are usually comparable when it comes to lease prices, but Tiguan is a free upgrade this month.

The smaller Taos actually has a slight advantage over the Tiguan in cargo capacity (65.9 cubic feet to 65.3), but the Tiguan has an optional third row, a more powerful engine, and more standard features than its subcompact sibling. Unless you live in an area with very cramped roads or plan on folding the rear seats down on a regular basis, now is a great time to take advantage of the latest Tiguan lease deal.

How is Volkswagen able to offer both SUVs at the same price? According to our analysis, the Tiguan is being offered with a more affordable lease rate than the Taos (2.78% to 3.96%). Though the Tiguan is more favorable to lease right now, it's worth noting that the Taos is currently available with 0% financing for up to 60 months, compared to 2.9% APR for 60 months on the Tiguan.
