In an unusual move for the automaker, Acura has added a loyalty bonus incentive to its 2022 MDX Type S. Type S models are typically excluded from special financing offers from Acura. This offer represents a better cash offer than the current MDX. Like with any offer, there are some caveats to be aware of, though.
According to a dealer bulletin, right now, current Acura customers of any 2012 or newer Acura vehicle can purchase a 2022 MDX Type S trim and get $1,500 back in Loyalty Cash. This is the best standalone cash offer from Acura and is even higher than the $1,000 loyalty bonus being offered on non-Type-S MDX trims.
Most MDX Type S configurations are eligible except for the Type S Advance. Acura owners don't have to trade in their current vehicle to be eligible for the cashback offer, and it can be transferred to other members of the same household, with proof of Acura ownership at the address.
However, taking the 2022 MDX Type S offer is only a good deal if you're planning on buying a Type S in the first place and may not be enough to recommend the higher-priced trim. This is because the $1,000 Loyalty Cash that's available on other MDX vehicles is combinable with special APR financing when financing through Acura Financial Services – special APR rates are something the Type S is excluded from.
There are no special financing rates on the MDX Type S and if you take the cash offer, you're looking at it being combined with standard rates. The deal available on the MDX Type S is the only deal on the Type S trims. The TLX Type S doesn't currently carry any offers.
The Loyalty Cash on the 2022 MDX Type S is available now through July 5, 2022, and you must take delivery of your new Acura by July 5 in order to be eligible. If you're looking to lease an MDX Type S, the Loyalty Cash can be combined with a $1,000 lease cash program bringing your potential savings to $2,500.
This is a welcome, if unprecedented, move from Acura and we are hopeful that we'll continue to see more deals in the months ahead. Though, with make automakers slashing deals in light of recent inventory shortages, we're not holding our breath.
