Acura has introduced a rare 0% APR deal just in time for Presidents' Day. Oddly enough, the luxury automaker doesn't appear to be telling anyone about it. We think we may know why. According to dealer incentive bulletins, the offer is actually an unusual type of loyalty discount that's being limited to a handful of models.

As of this past Thursday, Acura Financial Services began offering "Presidents' Day Loyalty APR" on the ILX, TLX, and RLX. However, unlike a normal 0% APR deal, it's limiting the deal to current customers. The offer isn't being listed on Acura's website but consists of 0% APR financing for 60 months or 0.9% for up to 72.

With the all-new 2021 TLX, you can even combine the deal with a $2,500 loyalty discount. That's the best deal to date on the brand's newest car and is especially good considering Acura practically never offers 0% APR. However, the exclusion of the RDX and MDX could make these changes irrelevant to an SUV buyer.

To get either offer, you or someone in your household will need to own a 2011 or newer Acura model. Sadly, those coming from another brand will see higher rates. In the case of the new TLX, it's 1.9% for 60 months with no 72-month financing deal. On a $40,000 car, that difference can translate to nearly $2,000 in interest.

Tying 0% financing to a loyalty incentive is extremely unusual. It's certainly a different approach from Honda, which first began offering 0% APR a month ago with no such condition and on bestselling models like the CR-V. Acura's recent launch of the 2022 MDX offers early incentives but no advantage for Presidents' Day.

Current Acura offers end on March 1, 2021.
