Damage from Hurricane Irma has already affected tens of thousands of residents in the Southeast. Although the true scope of the disaster will likely take months to realize, automakers are bracing for a wave of replacement purchases with special disaster relief discounts on cars.

Major automakers have put together a wide array of incentives to help. We're currently tracking 9 companies offering assistance in the form of Employee Pricing, rebates worth up to $1,000 and payment deferral programs.

Here's a look at what's available at the moment. Brands are listed in alphabetical order.

BMW Disaster Relief Program Updated 9/13

What it is: Effective September 6, BMW is offering a $500 Disaster Relief Credit good toward certain Certified Pre-Owned vehicles. We've been informed by the automaker that there's actually an incentive for new cars too, but we're awaiting full details.

Who's eligible: 2014 and 2015 factory certified pre-owned vehicles are eligible for the offer. This includes popular models like the 3 Series, 5 Series as well as sport utility vehicles like the X5.

Worth knowing: The most notable requirement here is that you'll have to finance through BMW Financial Services. Fortunately, the offer can be combined with any and all other sales promotions.

At the moment, BMW is offering 0.9% APR for 24 months on all 2014-2015 certified vehicles.

Expiration: The offer is set to expire January 2, 2018.

Fiat Chrysler Florida Recovery Program Added 9/18

Chrysler 300

What it is: Beginning September 15, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (which includes Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, FIAT and Alfa Romeo) is offering a $500 Florida Recovery Bonus to those affected by Hurricane Irma.

Who's eligible: Most 2017 and 2018 models are eligible for the offer, including the popular RAM 1500, Jeep Cherokee and all-new Jeep Compass. Notable exclusions are the Jeep Wrangler, SRT models and base versions of the FIAT 500 and 500X.

To qualify, simply show a copy of an insurance claim form showing damage to an existing car or truck that occurred as a result of the hurricane in September. Eligibility is determined by county.

Eligible Florida counties: Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, Columbia, De Soto, Duval, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Harnando, Highlands, Hillborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Saint Johns, Saint Lucie, Sarasota, Seminole, Sumter, Union and Volusia.

Eligible Georgia counties: Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, Pierce and Ware.

Worth knowing: The offer can be combined with other purchase and lease promotions.

Expiration: The program is set to expire October 31, 2017.

Ford Disaster Relief for Hurricane Irma Updated 9/18

Ford Edge

What it is: Effective September 10, Ford & Lincoln are offering an assistance package dubbed Florida is Family. It consists of a combination of Ford A-Plan Pricing and a 120-day payment deferral for no payments till 2018.

**Update** Starting September 16, Ford has added an extra $500 incentive on select models like the 2017 Fusion, Escape and Explorer.

Who's eligible: Residents in the Orlando region are eligible. Simply show your dealer a copy of an insurance claim form listing damage that occurred as a result of Hurricane Irma between the time period of September 10th and the 15th.

All 2017 and 2018 Ford/Lincoln vehicles are eligible with the exception of niche models like the Focus RS, Shelby GT350, F-150 Raptor and Ford GT. Popular nameplates like the Mustang, Edge and F-150 are eligible.

Worth knowing: Ford A-Plan equates to Employee Pricing and is one of the best discounts available. Even better, it can be combined with other advertised offers. Read our full Plan Pricing overview for more info.

One of the best deals at the moment for Orlando residents is the 2017 Ford Escape with $4,000 in savings when financing at non-promotional rates.

Expiration: Like other Ford offers, the program is set to expire on October 2, 2017. However, given the scope of the hurricane, we suspect the deal may be extended.

GM Southeast Disaster Relief Program Added 9/18

What it is: Starting September 15, GM is offering $500 Disaster Relief for those in select areas of Florida affected by Hurricane Irma.

Who's eligible: To qualify, simply provide proof in the form of an insurance claim form showing damage to an existing vehicle that occurred as a result of Irma.

Just about every single 2017 and 2018 model from Chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Buick is eligible. This even includes brand-new vehicles like the redesigned 2018 Traverse plus specialty models like the Corvette and all-electric Bolt EV.

Worth knowing: The offer can be combined with most other incentives for buying, including GM Supplier Pricing. Unfortunately, promotional lease deals are not eligible.

Expiration: The offer is set to expire October 31, 2017.

Hyundai Disaster Relief for Hurricane Irma Updated 9/18

Hyundai Sonata

What it is: Starting September 11, Hyundai and its premium brand Genesis are offering $750 Disaster Relief to those affected by Hurricane Irma.

**Update** Beginning September 13, the automaker is also offering a 90 day deferred payment option for those financing through Hyundai Motor Finance (HMF).

Who's eligible: All 2017 and 2018 Hyundai and Genesis models are eligible for the bonus, including brand-new vehicles like the 2018 Sonata and Elantra GT.

To get the discount, show your local dealer a copy of a letter from your insurance company showing proof of damage caused as a result of Hurricane Irma that began on September 8.

Worth knowing: Like other bonus offers, Disaster Relief can be combined with other purchase, finance and lease incentives.

One of the more impressive deals at the moment is $6,750 off the Sonata when choosing a 2017 Limited or 2.0T and financing at non-promotional rates. With Disaster Relief, that's $7,500 in savings before dealer discounts.

Expiration: The bonus will expire January 2, 2018. However, the payment deferral offer is set to end October 31.

Kia Disaster Relief for Hurricane Irma Added 9/18

Kia Optima

What it is: Starting September 13, Kia is offering a $750 bonus in what it's calling the Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irma Disaster Relief Specialty Incentive Program.

Who's eligible: All new 2017 & 2018 Kia models are eligible for the offer in Southern states, including the popular Optima sedan and Sorento SUV.

To qualify, you'll need to provide a copy of an insurance form showing damage to an existing vehicle that occurred on or after September 10.

The payment deferral offer is the same as the one for Hurricane Harvey victims and is available to residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Worth knowing: The offer can be combined with other purchase and lease promotions. Note that to get the payment deferral, you'll need to finance through Kia Motor Finance (KMF).

Expiration: The offer is set to expire January 2, 2018.

Nissan Disaster Relief For Hurricane Irma Updated 9/13

Nissan Rogue Sport

What it is: Nissan is offering Employee Pricing to those affected by Hurricane Irma. This is a version of the automaker's Vehicle Purchase Program, also called VPP Pricing.

VPP actually encompasses a number of programs covering employees, friends & family, college grads and members of the military.

With Employee Pricing, buyers are eligible for up to $1,500 below Invoice Price plus all applicable incentives.

Who's eligible: All new Nissan models are eligible, including popular vehicles like the Rogue Sport, Rogue and Pathfinder SUVs. There are some exceptions, which include the GT-R and base model Versa S.

The program is available to residents of Florida, South Carolina and Georgia with an insurance claim showing vehicle damage that occurred beginning September 7.

To get the discount, you'll need to visit Nissan's VPP portal and generate a Claim ID that can be redeemed at participating dealers. Discounts vary by model and are as follows:

Worth knowing: The offer can be combined with other rebates, special financing rates and promotional lease offers. Claim IDs expire after 45 days of creating one, but can be renewed.

Expiration: The offer is set to expire October 2, 2017.

Toyota Storm Relief Program Added 9/18

Toyota Highlander

What it is: Starting September 13, Toyota is offering $1,000 Storm Relief Support through the automaker's regional distributor, Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET).

Who's eligible: Residents of the following 5 states are eligible for the offer: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

To qualify, you'll have to show a copy of an insurance claim or other official insurance document listing damage that occurred between September 6 and September 12.

All 2017 and 2018 Toyota models are eligible, including the redesigned Toyota Camry sedan and 3-row Highlander SUV.

Worth knowing: The offer can be combined with all other purchase and lease promotions. Unlike some other automakers, there's no stated requirement to finance your purchase.

Expiration: The offer is set to expire October 31, 2017.

VW Disaster Relief for Hurricane Irma Added 9/18

VW Atlas

What it is: Beginning September 15, VW is offering a $500 rebate as part of the Hurricane Irma Customer Bonus Program.

Who's eligible: Residents of Florida and Puerto Rico are eligible for the offer.

To qualify, you'll have to show proof of damage to an existing car or truck with an insurance claim form. For residents of Puerto Rico, damage will have to have occurred after September 6. For those in Florida, the date is September 10.

All new VW models are eligible for the offer, including brand-new vehicles like the 2018 Tiguan and Atlas SUVs. The only notable exception is the limited-production Golf R.

Worth knowing: The offer can be combined with other purchase and lease promotions. Unlike offers from other automakers, this is offered as a discount that reduces your selling price as opposed to a customer cash incentive.

Expiration: The offer is set to expire October 31, 2017.
