Luxury brands like BMW might not be where you typically think to look for lease bargains, but they're there if you know where to look. The all-electric BMW i4 is actually the brand's cheapest car to lease right now, despite not being one of the lineup's entry-level models. Here's what you need to know about the BMW i4 lease deals we've seen lately.

BMW is currently offering the 2024 i4 eDrive35 for $499 a month over 36 months with $4,599 due at signing. The effective monthly cost works out to $627. While not a "cheap" lease in a vacuum, that makes for a pretty solid value relative to the i4's $54,545 MSRP.

The deal looks even better when compared to its gas counterpart. The ICE-powered 4-Series, upon which the i4 is based, is considerably more expensive to lease despite having a lower MSRP. The 2024 430i can currently be leased for $679 per month over 36 months with $4,659 due at signing. The $808 effective monthly cost is far from compelling, especially when considering that the gas 4 is almost $4,000 less expensive than its electric brethren.

How is BMW able to offer such a better lease deal on the more expensive i4? The i4 deal has $7,500 in lease cash factored in, which effectively lowers the payment. Even though the i4 isn't eligible for the federal EV tax credit, BMW is taking advantage of a loophole in the legislation that allows commercial vehicles to avoid the strict battery sourcing requirements.

Although we wouldn't classify it as a cheap car, the aggressive i4 deal makes it the most affordable car to lease in the BMW lineup. It's even more affordable than the entry-level 2-Series Gran Coupe, which has an MSRP of $43,345. These deals can fluctuate from month to month, but the i4's lease cash isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and we expect it to be an attractive EV to lease for the foreseeable future.
