Chevy's newest model, the 2019 Blazer, has been on sale for several months with virtually no incentives. However, through April 30, you can now get a $2,000 conquest bonus when coming from a competitor. Before you get too excited, there are some restrictions worth knowing about.

First, the discount is only available when buying and not leasing. Second, you'll have to show proof that you own or lease any 2005 or newer vehicle from a non-GM brand. All Blazers are eligible nationally except for the entry-level L trim with a base price of $29,995.

You don't have to trade-in your current vehicle and can transfer the offer to members of the same household. Sadly, if you're a current GM customer hoping for a loyalty discount, you may be disappointed. Having said that, Chevy is offering a $1,000 "move-up bonus" for those leasing a 2014 or newer Cruze, Malibu or Equinox.

To put this all in perspective, the 2019 Equinox is eligible for 0% financing for 72 months or an option for a 20% discount if you finance at non-promotional rates and come from a competitor. That's worth up to $8,050 off the MSRP of the Premier trim and is one of the best deals in April.

So should you buy a Blazer now or wait for better deals to come along?

Frankly, it's too early to tell. Some Chevys get better discounts than others, and there's no guarantee that we'll ever see the same level of savings on the Blazer. For example, the 2019 Traverse has been on sale since late last year but remains excluded from big "percentage off" deals.

Meanwhile, competitors like the 2019 Nissan Murano feature $2,500 in rebates plus 0% financing for 36 months. Offers on the recently updated 2019 Ford Edge have improved considerably this month, with up to $5,000 in savings on SEL & Titanium styles or 0% APR for 60 months plus $3,000 in bonus cash.
