Ford is offering as much as a $3,000 loyalty discount on its flagship F-150 pickup in some parts of the U.S. According to incentive bulletins sent to dealers this morning, the company has tripled its F-150 loyalty discount in some cities, although a closer look finds that the deal is actually limited to lessees in certain regions.
In Detroit, 2022 Ford F-150s now offer a $3,000 lease loyalty discount starting today. Previously, the incentive was worth just $1,000. The program is called the "F-150 to F-150 RCL Renewal" offer, and rewards "customers who come out of any eligible Ford F-150 RCL contract and purchase or lease" a new one this month.
To qualify, you'll need to have terminated an F-150 lease "up to 90 days prior to the sale date of the new vehicle," though the program also states that the discount is available to current F-150 lessees provided that they end their lease within 180 days after the sale date. This could offer flexibility to those looking to upgrade.
RCL stands for Red Carpet Lease, which happens to be what the brand calls its lease contracts. Through May 31st, the deal can be combined with most other F-150 incentives whether you buy or lease. Most styles are eligible, though the wording of the incentive excludes both the limited-production Tremor and Raptor.
While we are seeing similar F-150 loyalty discounts in other parts of the country, the amounts aren't as impressive. In the Twin Cities region, Ford is offering a smaller discount worth $2,000. It's also worth noting that this lease loyalty discount doesn't apply to the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning that recently sold out.
Ford incentives can vary by region and are shaping up to be a mixed bag in the month of May. As we reported today, Ford slashed its 84-month financing rate on the Mach-E GT, equating to a significant price cut. However, other Mach-E financing rates went up. Limited inventory may also result in dealer markups.
