Although pricing for the all-new Ford F-150 starts at just over $30,000, our analysis finds that GM is using hidden discounts to undercut the segment's newest truck by thousands. As a result, shoppers comparing the redesigned F-150 versus the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra could face an even tougher decision.

On the surface, the cheapest F-150 is the XL 4x2 Regular Cab with an MSRP of $30,635 including destination. While that sits squarely between the cost of a 2021 Chevy Silverado Work Truck 4x2 Regular Cab ($30,195) and 2021 GMC Sierra Base 4x2 Regular Cab ($31,295), hidden discounts tilt the scales in favor of GM.

A closer look finds that both versions of the Silverado and Sierra qualify for a $2,000 "package discount" simply for choosing the entry-level 4.3L V6 engine. The discount allows the cheapest versions of both pickup trucks to dip below the $30,000 mark and start at just $28,195 for the Silverado and $29,295 for the Sierra.

As a result, the cheapest Silverado will actually be nearly $2,500 more affordable than the F-150. And that's before factoring-in incentives. As we reported recently, 2021 truck rebates have been surprisingly good. Offers ahead of Black Friday feature up to a $4,250 discount on the Silverado Crew Cab and $6,250 off the Sierra.

Interestingly, the redesigned F-150 has a few tricks up its sleeve as well, with as much as a $2,250 Equipment Discount on certain configurations like the XLT with Chrome Appearance Package. We're also seeing an 84-month financing option through Ford Credit plus a year-end offer promising no payments until 2021.

While the pickup wars are ongoing, shoppers looking for the craziest discounts will want to consider a 2020 RAM 1500. As part of a Black Friday promotion, the brand's flagship pickup is eligible for Chrysler Employee Pricing. With nearly $10,000 in savings up for grabs, so far it's the best Black Friday deal on a truck.

Most current offers end on November 30.
