Those looking to take home a new Hyundai Venue will find fewer deals ahead of the Presidents' Day holiday. According to a bulletin sent to dealers, the brand has taken away promotional lease options for its most affordable SUV. As a result, new car shoppers may find buying a better option than leasing.

Back in early January, you could lease a 2020 Venue SE from $259 for 36 months with $2,399 due at signing, an effective cost of $326/month. The offer was based on an MSRP of $19,545 and an allowance of 10,000 miles per year. Now, that offer is gone and shoppers will have to settle with non-promotional lease rates.

Based on Hyundai's online payment calculator, the entry-level SE trim now costs roughly $337/month before taxes & fees based on 10,000 miles per year and $0 down. To put that in perspective, the 2021 Kia Seltos just debuted at $199 for 39 months with $2,699 due at signing, or $268/month.

Should shoppers lament the demise of special leases for the Venue? Probably not. Not long after its introduction, our analysis found that the brand's smallest SUV was actually more expensive to lease than a Santa Fe. The 2020 Santa Fe SE is currently listed at $219 for 36 months with $2,899 at signing, or $300/month.

That's $26 less than the last offer on the Venue despite a difference in MSRP of $7,700, making it one of this month's best leases on an SUV. For those planning to buy, the Venue continues to feature a choice between a $500 cash incentive or 0.9% APR financing for 60 months.

Current offers end March 2. Be sure to follow our special Presidents' Day Deal coverage in the days ahead.
