In the car-buying world, it's not uncommon for automakers to offer so-called conquest incentives to get shoppers to switch brands. This month, Infiniti is offering a surprisingly large bonus worth up to $3,000 to do just that ahead of Black Friday. However, amounts vary by model and whether you're planning to buy or lease.

Here's a look at what's available and how it works.

Offer Details

The offer in question involves discounts worth between $2,000 and $3,000 for buying a new Infiniti. If you're leasing, the amounts drop to between $1,000 and $1,500. The promotion can be combined with other incentives for buying & leasing and is available nationally.

To get the deal, you'll have to come from one of the following brands (listed alphabetically): Acura, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Honda, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota or Volvo.

You don't have to trade-in your car and the deal can be transferred to members of the same household.

Amounts are as follows:

Model Model Years Amount For Buying Amount For Leasing
Q50 2018/2019 $2,000 $1,000
Q60 2018 $3,000 $1,500
QX50 2019 $2,000 $1,000
QX60 2019 $3,000 $1,500
QX80 2018/2019 $2,000 $1,000

Offers end January 2, 2019

Getting paid to switch brands might sound pretty sweet, but there are even better deals that can dramatically lower prices.

Behind the scenes, Infiniti is giving dealers anywhere from $3,000 to as much as $6,000 off models like the Q50 to help lower prices. Based on our analysis, some of the deepest discounts can be found in Los Angeles, New York and Miami.

If you play your cards right, you may be able to save big bucks on your next car or SUV. As we reported earlier this month, now is a great time to buy a luxury car because of aggressive year-end sale events.
