Mazda's best deals aren't being advertised ahead of the Presidents' Day holiday. In some parts of the country, dealer incentive bulletins reveal that the Japanese automaker is offering hidden discounts worth as much as $1,500 in lieu of rebates. We've also learned that the brand's Presidents' Day sale hasn't even started.

You won't see it advertised, but Mazda is using a special incentive called Dealer Engagement Cash to help lower prices. Unlike a rebate, this is a form of dealer cash that can be given to consumers or kept as additional profit. That's a big deal considering Mazda forbids its dealers from advertising prices under invoice.

If you shop around, you may be able to score significant savings. For example, in Baltimore and Washington D.C., Mazda is offering $500 off the 2021 CX-30, $1,000 off the 2021 Mazda3, Mazda6, and CX-5, plus $1,500 off the CX-9. Those looking for an even better deal may even want to wait until later this week.

That's because Mazda's Presidents' Day sale doesn't appear to have actually started in most parts of the country. In the Midwest, we've learned that the brand will begin offering a $500 Presidents' Day bonus on both the CX-30 and CX-9. The sale is set to start on February 10th and will only run through February 15th.

Mazda owners should be aware that they may be eligible for a $750 loyalty discount. A trade-in isn't required, and the offer can be transferred to members of the same household. Here in Los Angeles, the Mazda3 sedan currently ranks among the cheapest cars you can lease with payments starting at just $159/month.

That said, there are some things to be aware of. For example, Mazda cut lease payments by lowering its mileage allowances from 12k miles a year to just 10k. It's also worth knowing that the brand's 60-month APR offers have a quirk that can enable you to lower your loan payments by taking advantage of a 63-month term.

Current Mazda offers end on March 1, 2021.
