The freshly-updated 2016 Acura ILX may be barely arriving on dealer lots but already has outstanding special offers. The new deals provide a surprisingly attractive alternative to competitors.

Surprising offers

Bulletins issued by Acura reveal a number of unusually aggressive lease and finance offers for the heavily updated 2016 ILX sedan. The deals involve a substantial use of lease bonuses and low-APR financing to lure shoppers. The offers run from February 20 to May 11, 2015.

Why this is unusual

The new ILX has barely begun arriving on dealer lots. According to a national inventory search of Autotrader listings, only 269 vehicles are currently listed as on ground or in transit.

In contrast, there are over 11,000 listings for the pricier TLX. Although the ILX hasn't been completely redesigned and isn't a new model, we usually see Acura wait longer before issuing this level of offers.

Traditional lease offer

The new lease deals on the ILX rely heavily on dealer lease bonuses that aren't advertised publicly. These discounts range up to $1,750, with the biggest discounts on well-equipped models.

Note: These offers have mileage caps of 10,000 miles per year (normal for what we expect in this segment).

ILX Premium w/DCT $259 for 39 months with $2,999 down

$0 due at lease signing offer

Shoppers not wanting to fork over a substantial sum upfront have a great new $0 due at signing offer. The trade-off is a slightly higher monthly payment.

Finance offers

Wary of leasing? Acura has a low-APR financing offer of 1.9% for up to 36 months. For over 36 months, the rate is 2.9% up to a maximum of 60 months.

Expecting a 0% offer? Not so fast. Acura almost never goes lower than 0.9% for any given loan term. However, we suspect we'll eventually see 72-month financing since Acura has been venturing into that area recently.

Buying outlook

These are undoubtedly attractive deals on a heavily updated model. The 2016 ILX offers an array of improvements over the outgoing model that makes it an outstanding value versus pricier competitors.

Shoppers may want to prepare for a very limited selection until inventory improves over the next 30-60 days. Be sure to work with your local dealer to confirm availability and learn about reserving an incoming model.
