RAM 10% Off MSRP Deal Creating $14,000 Truck Discounts

An oversupply of RAM trucks is creating deals we haven't seen in years. According to bulletins sent to dealers, the brand is offering a "10% Off MSRP" deal on the full-sized RAM 1500 pickup. In some cases, we're now seeing dealerships advertising discounts worth nearly $14,000 off select trucks before Memorial Day.

Through May 31st, all 2023 RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cabs offer an unusual 10% Off MSRP "standalone discount" as part of this national incentive. The Laramie starts at just under $55,000 but can cost as much as $80,000 with optional equipment. In extreme cases, this could result in an $8,000 factory discount.

But that's not all. Our analysis found that 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie trucks are eligible, too, and can still be found at many dealerships. We also found a quirk that makes both the 2022 Laramie Crew and Quad Cabs eligible for the promo. Opting for a 2022 RAM could translate to the most savings on any truck.

RAM 1500 10% off MSRP example deal

In the example above, a local dealer here in Los Angeles is advertising a 2022 RAM Laramie Crew Cab with a sticker price of $67,815 for just $53,862. The price reflects $6,781 off MSRP from the 10% off deal plus an additional $7,172 dealer discount. That's $13,953 in combined savings, a 20% discount.

While the RAM 10% off MSRP deal began on May 2nd, it's been years since we've seen this type of promotion from any truck brand. According to our records, Chevy used to offer as much as a 20% discount on Silverado trucks. However, that was way back in 2018 when truck price wars were normal.

But before you head over to your RAM dealer, there are some important details worth knowing about. The fine print says that the RAM 10% off MSRP deal is limited to retail purchases and can't be used when leasing. As a standalone incentive, the deal also can't be combined with other rebates or promotional financing.

Competing trucks don't offer incentives anywhere near as good right now. Here in California, Ford's best deal on the 2023 F-150 is worth just $1,000 and only on XLT trims. The 2023 Chevy Silverado has $2,250 in savings but only on Crew Cabs with a turbo engine. The popular Toyota Tundra has no rebates at all.
