Rivian is offering its cheapest R1T lease to date for original preorder holders. According to a message sent to customers, the R1T can now be leased for as little as $411 per month. Based on our analysis, R1T preorder holder lease deals can include discounts worth over $21,000 off MSRP, bringing the price to $48,000.

As we reported earlier today, Rivian is sunsetting a 20% discount for R1T preorder holders this fall. The move is tied to an offer to compensate preorder holders for a series of price hikes implemented back in March of 2022. Now, customers will have till September 30th to finally buy or lease their R1T at 20% off MSRP.

But that's not all. Rivian is offering $7,500 in lease cash on the R1T that can be stacked with the preorder offer. As confirmed by a Rivian representative today, the 20% discount equates to $13,980 off the $69,900 MSRP (excluding destination) of the Dual Motor Standard Pack. The lease deal brings the price down to $48,420.

The limited-time Rivian R1T preorder holder lease is listed at $411 for 36 months with $7,306 due at signing. That's based on an MSRP of $71,700 for the 2024 R1T Adventure Dual Motor Standard Battery Pack with 21-inch wheels, LA Silver paint, and Black Mountain interior, and includes the destination fee of $1,800.

We consider this a killer deal, though not everyone will qualify since it's limited to preorder holders. Still, for customers who've been waiting for the right deal to come along, this represents significant savings. Buyers should be aware, however, that Rivian has stopped fulfilling customers until late fall as its plant retools.

As a result, you'll need to choose from the company's existing inventory. This may limit the degree to which you can customize your R1T, amounting to a serious drawback. For the money, our analysis found that Rivian's promotion enables it to severely undercut both the Ford F-150 Lightning and the Tesla Cybertruck.
