Those waiting for a deal on the 2019 Genesis G70 will probably encounter lower prices today across the country. According to a bulletin just sent to dealers, the model is now eligible for up to a $2,500 dealer cash incentive. Together with other offers, shoppers can find up to $4,500 in savings, 50% more than last month and the best deal to date. However, there are some important catches worth knowing about before pulling out your checkbook.
First, the extra $2,500 is dealer cash, an incentive that dealers aren't obligated to pass along or even acknowledge. As a result, shoppers should compare prices from multiple dealers to find one motivated to pass along the full amount. In addition, only certain 2-liter turbocharged versions with the Dynamic, Sport, or Prestige packages are eligible. Sorry, enthusiasts— manual transmission G70s are excluded, as are cars with the optional twin-turbo engine.
As before, Genesis is offering a $1,000 Year-End Event Bonus on all versions of the G70, plus an extra $1,000 for customers coming from a competing brand or another Genesis model. As we reported previously, the automaker is also allowing Hyundai owners to qualify for its loyalty discount. All told, that's $4,500 in savings up for grabs before considering any additional discounts from local dealers.
Those looking to lease will find the G70 a remarkable value. This month's featured lease on the nearly $41,000 G70 Elite starts at $409 for 36 months with $0 due at signing, making it one of the best leases on a luxury car. At that price, the car undercuts the 2020 BMW 330i by over $130/month. It may be hard to believe, but our analysis even finds the G70's effective lease cost to be identical to that of a 2020 Chevy Malibu LT ($409) despite an over $14,000 difference in MSRP.
Current offers from Genesis end January 6.
