This is the last year for the Dodge Avenger, which is built on the same platform at the Chrysler 200. It's already bargain-priced, but pricing should get even better with manufacturer incentives and dealer discounts.
What's New for 2014
Not much has changed for the 2014 Avenger. The popular Blacktop and Rallye packages make a return this year.
Choosing Your Dodge Avenger
Buyers choose between three trim levels:
SXT
The SXT also comes standard with the four-cylinder engine, but is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission. The V6 is optional. Other standard features include 17-inch aluminum wheels, automatic headlamps, projector fog lamps, an eight-way power driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, six speakers, automatic climate control, body-color heated exterior mirrors, and satellite radio.
The Rallye and Blacktop packages are also optional for the SXT, and other options include a Sun and Sound Group with the Uconnect navigation and media center, a sunroof and 18-inch aluminum wheels.
R/T
The sportiest Avenger is the perfect sedan for the buyer who wants an enthusiastic driving experience at a great value. A stiffened, sport-tuned suspension, standard V6 power, and performance-inspired interior and exterior design cues are all standard equipment.
Inside the R/T gets the complete sport treatment and adds a 276-watt Boston Acoustic sound system to complement the standard Uconnect media center.
Optional equipment includes navigation, satellite radio and a sunroof.
Especially with the likelihood of deep discounts, you may as well buy as much Avenger as your budget allowed.
