The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport receives some minor updates, such as new Heritage Convenience and Black Diamond packages and several new exterior colors but is largely a carryover model.
2023 Ford Bronco Sport
Unlike other websites and magazines, our ratings are not based solely on a singular road test, but rather a more encompassing batch of criteria: quality, safety, comfort, performance, fuel economy, reliability history and value. When comparing vehicles using our Rating System, it's important to note that the rating earned by each vehicle correlates only to the models within its class. For example, a compact car cannot be compared to a SUV—They are different vehicles altogether.
You can interpret our ratings in the following way:
5-Star: Outstanding vehicle. Only the most exceptional vehicles achieve this rating.
4-Star: Very Good vehicle. Very good and close to being the best vehicle in its class.
3-Star: Good vehicle. Decent, but not quite the best. Often affordable, but lacking key features found in vehicles of the same class.
2-Star: Below average vehicle. Not recommended, and lacking attributes a car buyer would come to expect for the price.
1-Star: Poor vehicle. Simply does not deserve to be on the road.

Choosing Your Ford Bronco Sport
The Bronco Sport is available in six trims: Base, Big Bend, Heritage, Outer Banks, Badlands, and Heritage Limited. Base prices range from $30,810 to $46,250.
A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine powers most trims and generates 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The Badlands and Heritage Limited trims are powered by a larger 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo that puts out 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque which is very strong for the class.
Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic that sends power to all wheels while the Badlands and Heritage Limited trims feature an advanced drivetrain for more off-road capability and additional terrain modes.
The standard Bronco Sport achieves an EPA-estimated 25 miles per gallon city, 28 mpg highway, and 26 combined.
The more powerful models achieve 21, 26, and 23 mpg combined.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
