2022 F-150 Lightning in transit to dealers

The 2022 F-150 Lightning is Ford's first electric truck, promising impressive range and capability for about $40,000 to start. Ford is currently converting a high volume of reservations into production orders. The first batch of trucks is currently in transit to dealers.

The 2022 F-150 Lightning comes in two versions: the commercial-focused Lightning Pro and the regular Lightning available to everyone. Buyers are eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500, as well as various state and local EV incentives. However, Ford will prohibit dealers from advertising the Lightning below MSRP. This has to do with its unique invoice price calculation. There's also a special Ford Plan Pricing discount for eligible buyers.

Ford F-150 Lightning Lease Deals

No special offers yet

Ford doesn't have a lease deal yet on the 2022 F-150 Lightning. As with the Mustang Mach-E, Ford Credit plans to offer a lease-like deal called Ford Options Plan involving the flexibility of a lease with the option to buy at the end. However, this balloon financing deal may not be for everyone.

If you're intent on leasing, it's important to note that Ford doesn't pass on the EV tax credit as bonus cash. This could limit the upside of such an arrangement for consumers. To put that into perspective, the Ford Options Plan gives consumers access to the full amount if they're eligible.

Ford F-150 Lightning Rebate Deals

No cash offers

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning doesn't carry any rebates, at least to start. That could change if F-150 Lightning deals look anything like the Mustang Mach-E.

For example, the Mach-E offers a Ford Options Bonus worth over $2,000 in some parts of the country. Although it's not a cash incentive available to everyone, it does offer special savings when choosing the Ford Options Plan.

In terms of incentives, the F-150 Lightning does qualify for a $7,500 federal tax credit. We expect the truck to also be eligible for state rebates like the $2,000 California Clean Vehicle Rebate and $750 Clean Fuel Reward.

Ford F-150 Lightning Finance Deals

No APR deals

There are no financing incentives yet on the 2022 F-150 Lightning. If you're looking to finance your purchase, ask your dealer about standard rate offers from Ford Credit.
