The 2024 Ford F-450 remains the most capable member of the Super Duty truck family. The lineup received a total redesign last year with chassis upgrades, more pulling power, and refreshed technology. The 2024 Ford Super Duty order guide shows minor adjustments to equipment packages but no other changes for the F-450's sophomore year.
The F-450's standard 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 engine produces 475 horsepower and a hefty 1,050 lb-ft of torque. The available high-output version makes an even 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. Both engines use a 10-speed automatic transmission, and dual rear wheels are once again standard across the range. Four-wheel drive is optional on the base XL trim and standard everywhere else. A limited-slip rear differential and heavy-duty brakes complete the mechanical setup
Properly equipped, the 2024 F-450 can tow up to 40,000 pounds. Payload capacity reaches 8,000 pounds.
The XL and XLT start with the three-person Regular Cab and buyers can upgrade to the four-door Crew Cab, which is standard on subsequent trims. All models come in an 8-foot bed.
Ford offers the 2024 F-450 in six trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. Designed primarily for fleet sales, the XL is lightly equipped in terms of comfort and convenience, but plenty of tech and capability upgrades are available. The XLT takes a more civilized approach with features like chrome exterior trim, a power driver seat, a larger touchscreen, and a cloth interior with full carpeting.
The Lariat goes upscale with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a 12-inch instrument screen, and automatic wipers. The King Ranch offers a Western design theme inside and out, along with more tech and convenience features. The Platinum carries similar equipment wrapped in a contemporary luxury theme. The Limited gets the plushest interior and unique design elements throughout.
