What's New
The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 is an all-new electric sedan that joins the IONIQ 5 SUV in the automaker’s all-electric lineup. Despite being a sedan, the IONIQ 6 shares the same platform as the IONIQ 5, as well as most of the SUV’s powertrains. With the IONIQ 6, Hyundai is directly targeting the Tesla Model 3.
Choosing Your Hyundai IONIQ 6
Hyundai is offering the IONIQ 6 in three trims: SE, SEL, and Limited. Prices start at $46,615 and go up to $53,715 (with destination).
Engine Choices
The IONIQ 6 is available with multiple electric powertrains. The base powertrain includes a single electric motor powering the rear wheels that makes 149 horsepower and a 53-kWh battery pack. The standard configuration results in a range of up to 240 miles. A larger 77.4-kWh battery pack can be paired with a more powerful 225-hp single electric motor on the rear wheels for up to 361 miles of range. This is the configuration to get for maximum range but it costs an extra $3,900.
Hyundai is also offering the IONIQ 6 with a dual-motor layout with AWD. Horsepower is rated at up to 302 hp, while range is as low as 270 miles and can go up to 316 miles. Dual-motor configurations are only available with the larger 74-kWh battery pack.
Thanks to its 800-volt architecture, the IONIQ 6 has 350-kW charging capability that sees the battery pack go from 10% charged to 80% charged in roughly 18 minutes.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The IONIQ 6 may not look like a traditional sedan, but it offers seating for up to five across two rows like a regular sedan. With its flat floor, large windows, and unique interior design, the IONIQ 6 has a roomy sedan with a generous amount of space in both rows. Passengers in the back get 38.3 inches of rear headroom and 34.7 inches of rear legroom.
When it comes to cargo capacity, the IONIQ 6 offers up to 11.2 cubic feet of space in its trunk. The front trunk offers up to 0.5 cubic feet of cargo space.

Safety Features
All IONIQ 6 models come packed with safety features. The SE trim comes standard with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, parking sensors, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, a driver attention monitor, Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist I system, automatic high-beam assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Stepping up to the SEL trim brings blind spot monitoring with blind spot collision avoidance, automatic emergency braking with intersection assist, adaptive cruise control with machine learning, and Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist II system. The range-topping Limited gets a blind spot view monitor and reverse automatic emergency braking.
Connectivity
On the tech front, the IONIQ 6 comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Other features like satellite radio, navigation, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and five USB ports are also standard. Available features include a Bose audio system, a wireless charging pad, Hyundai Digital Key Touch 2, and Hyundai’s Bluelink system.

Compare Ioniq 6 Trims Side-By-Side
We think the Hyundai IONIQ 6 SE Long Range trim with the larger battery pack is the way to go for most consumers. That pairing results in the most range possible – 361 miles – and offers the strongest value in the lineup. The SE trim comes well-equipped with features and while higher trims come with more equipment, they don’t feel like they’re worth the increase in pricing.
