What's New
The 2023 Lexus RX is completely redesigned and rides on a new chassis platform, receives the latest integrated safety and infotainment systems, and receives three new powertrain options, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Choosing Your Lexus RX
The 2023 Lexus RX is available in six trims: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and F SPORT Performance with base prices ranging from $48,550 to $62,750.
Engine Choices
The V6 is dropped in favor of a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine on the base trim while the hybrid model now adopts the familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder and nickel-metal-hydride battery pack to deliver much-improved fuel economy without increasing the price.
The RX 500h aims to please those that aren’t looking to sacrifice performance for efficiency by mating the turbocharged engine with a more powerful battery and motors. Additionally, the all-wheel-drive system is upgraded to be able to transfer power across the rear axle. A more practical system is offered on the RX 350 for $1,600 (front-wheel drive is standard) and included on the hybrid variants and those dressed in F-Sport guise.
At a later date, Lexus will begin selling the RX 450h+, the first plug-in hybrid RX. It will feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an 18.1-kWh battery in an all-wheel-drive configuration. Detailed RX PHEV specs, including its electric driving range, have not yet been revealed as of this writing. Lexus has not yet announced its on-sale date for the 2023 RX plug-in hybrid.

Passenger and Cargo Capacity
The new body rests on a longer wheelbase than the 2022 model, however, it retains its 192.5-inch length. Last year’s longer (by four inches) L model has not yet been announced and the 2023 RX remains solely a five-passenger crossover.
Inside the rear passengers are provided with 37.4 inches of legroom and 38.5 inches of headroom which is marginally less than before. In the back, the cargo space has increased significantly and now measures 29.6 cubic feet or 46.2 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
The RX is rated for towing 3,500 pounds with the optional towing package that only costs $160.
