Model Preview
The current Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class arrived with an updated exterior design and the lineup was trimmed down to just one model. With the CLS coming off of a few changes, we expect the 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLS to be a carryover model.
Last year, the CLS arrived with a new bumper and an updated grille for a more regal look. The current CLS also has triangular headlights, muscular fenders, and a sweeping roofline to have a coupe-like look. At the back, the CLS features a rounded rear end and dual exhaust outlets. As a carryover model, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLS is expected to have the same overall exterior design as the current model that’s on sale.
The interior of the current CLS has an upscale design that’s packed with tech. The dashboard features two large screens that, unlike a lot of others vehicles in the Mercedes lineup, are integrated into the dashboard instead of sitting on top of it. The circular air vents, trim pieces on the dashboard that line up with the trim on the doors, and curvature of the lower part of the center console give the CLS a high-end look. The 2023 CLS should retain the same interior design as the current CLS.
We don’t expect Mercedes to make any changes to the CLS’ list of standard tech features for 2023. The current sedan comes standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and navigation. Available features include a Wi-Fi hot spot, a Burmester audio system, a wireless charging pad, and the MBUX interior assistant.
Under the hood, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz CLS will only be available with one engine. A turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system will be standard. Power should continue to be rated at 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive will be standard.
The 2023 CLS should be available with the same safety features as the current model that’s on sale. Blind-spot monitoring, safe exit assist, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, a driver drowsiness monitor, crosswind assist, and car-to-X communication are standard. Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, pedestrian detection, lane change assist, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, park assist, front and rear cross-traffic alert, and a surround-view parking camera.
