Subaru Outback Generations
2020 - 2025 Subaru Outback
We expect the 2025 Subaru Outback to arrive with a full redesign. The 2024 model was a carryover, with the Outback receiving a mild refresh for the 2023 model year. On the outside we expect to see the redesign come in the grille and possibly the headlight area, but for the vehicle to retain its wagon roots. We may see some of the heavy body cladding that Subaru is known for going away, though nothing has been confirmed about the redesign. The 2024 model features seven trim levels, and we don't... 2015 - 2019 Subaru Outback
Subaru may not be as big as its other Japanese rivals like Toyota and Honda, but their customer base is probably one of the most loyal across the entire market. That loyalty will extend to the 2019 Subaru Outback, the wagon-SUV hybrid that the company built nearly their entire brand around. The 2019 Outback continues with the rugged go-anywhere character of its predecessors, along with its famous all-wheel drive and dependability. 2010 - 2014 Subaru Outback
Subarus are synonymous with the outdoors, LL Bean and rugged living. The Outback received a mid-cycle refresh in 2013, laying the groundwork for attributes that carry over into the new 2014 Subaru Forester. The five-speed automatic transmission provides manual gear selection using steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. Power is sent through the standard full-time all-wheel drive. A unique SI-Drive system is also available that allows three different driving modes: "Intelligent," "Sport" and "Sport Sharp". Read more
2000 - 2004 Subaru Outback
Having released a six-cylinder Outback last year, Subaru has further expanded the line for 2002 with two additional six-cylinder models. Four-cylinder Outbacks continue nearly unchanged. With either engine, Outback offers an attractive alternative to a bulkier, truck-based sport-utility. Even the powerful six-cylinder versions rate 20/26 mpg city/highway, and while that's not exactly economy-car territory, it's significantly better than the 15/20 mpg you can expect from even a mid-size SUV. Four-cylinder Outbacks deliver more than adequate performance, and get 22/27 mpg. An Outback won't wring... Read more
