What's New
The 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is an all-new vehicle for the model year. It shares a lot of the same features as the regular Corolla Cross but features a hybrid powertrain. The Corolla Cross Hybrid becomes one of the few hybrid options in the subcompact segment and brings a large fuel economy improvement over the gas-only model.
Choosing Your Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid
Engine Choices
The electrified Corolla Cross Hybrid features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with three electric motors. The combined output is rated at 196 horsepower, making it more powerful than the standard Corolla Cross by 27 hp. Unlike the regular Corolla Cross, the hybrid model comes with standard all-wheel drive. The powertrain is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
The Corolla Cross Hybrid is rated at up to 45 mpg in the city, 38 mpg on the highway, and 42 mpg combined. These figures are far better than the gas-powered Corolla Cross, which is rated at up to 32 mpg combined.
Passenger and Cargo Capacity
All Corolla Cross Hybrid models offer seating for up to five people. The hybrid powertrain hasn’t affected the Corolla Cross Hybrid’s interior space, as it offers the same passenger space as the non-hybrid model. Passengers in the front get 38.6 inches of headroom and 42.9 inches of legroom, while those in the back have 39 inches of headroom and 32 inches of legroom.
When it comes to cargo capacity, the Corolla Cross Hybrid loses some space cargo space to the regular Corolla Cross. The hybrid offers up to 21.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and a total of 61.8 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded.
