Cynics will see the Jetta GLI as just another trim level of the Jetta sedan, but Volkswagen gives it enough of a reworking that it shares little with its namesake beyond the bodywork and basic platform. 228 horsepower, an exclusive suspension design, and two unique trim levels afford the GLI the same air of distinction typically given to the better-known GTI. Thinking of the GLI as the four-door version of the GTI is a more appropriate way to look at this hot-rod compact sedan.
The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI is a five-passenger, front-wheel-drive compact performance sedan. It shares the same platform as other Jetta sedan models but adds performance features including a multi-link rear suspension, a limited-slip rear differential, and Golf R brakes. Read more »
